Mama Crush: Ina Odak

TMJ Loves

by Emmy

Whenever I have a take-away coffee in my hand and cute lil boots on I think of Ina from @sneakersandsoul. I mean she makes getting a takeaway coffee seem like the coolest thang ever! Carefree, empowering and inspiring would be how I describe Ina. I love the way she is a total boss of her life, oozes grace, sass & effortless style, but at the same time is so freaking down-to-earth I kind of just want to run away with her! Major #mumcrush over here.

Mama Crush: Jo Lorenz

There are a few daily necessities in my life… drinking coffee & checking in with  @jo_lorenz‘s Instagram feed. I mean talk about priorities! Oh-so-stunning mama Jo, sure knows how to make a swoon worthy IG feed.  She is the digital content creator queen, she oozes style & she is fabulously hilarious! For all things fashion, family, lifestyle and travel be sure to check out her website. Full disclosure if you are not already following Jo, I suggest making a cup of tea/coffee or having a wine, and then putting a few hours aside so you can scroll (ahem stalk) her STUNNING feed and website! (You can thank me later).

Tour: Omri’s Room

Interiors

by Emmy

I’ve had a massive insta-crush on @mowgliandthebear_ (formally @mikzuzu)  since we both got out first brand rep gig with Christy from @littlemaggiemoo back in August 2015. I have watched @mowgliandthebear_ (whose real world name is Mikaela) create pure magic on her Instagram feed. She has two beautiful boys; Kemba (2 years old) and her newest addition, the just-darling Omri (7 months old). Mikaela is the flatlay and scandi-styling queen and if you are not already major crushing on her feed after this post you sure will be!

Failed detox: Part One

Health

by Emmy

I am going to do a month long detox. I am going to do yoga. Go swimming. Walk at least one hour every day. Stop drinking coffee. Do a juice cleanse. No gluten. No sugar. No dairy. No meat. No caffeine (like NONE). Seriously I think I was in a we-sold-our-house-and-have-no-where-to-live-false-sense-of-security-frame-of-mind. When I look at that I think Emmy … what on earth were you thinking? Not only did I say I was going to do all that … I went and freaking published it on Instagram for the whole world (ahem 3K+) people to see. Like seriously? Only one word for this type of thinking. CRAY. (Yes I am aware that isn’t actually a word).

5 things I never knew about toilet training

Life

by Emmy

1. Number one is a doozy. When all of my mum friends were sharing how they were toilet training or how their children were ‘toilet trained’ I thought that meant they were toilet trained. As in every wee and every poo successfully landed in the toilet. Upon experience it actually just means they are not wearing nappies and they probably still do have accidents. Ok there are a few children who, once commenced toilet training, never had any accidents (pretty sure this was me; did I mention I was a genius albeit tantrum throwing baby?) but for the vast majority when they say toilet trained/training, it means yes there are accidents, it is a process. It is just that talking about scraping poo from your kids undies isn’t really a latte sipping mama conversation starter. Go figure.

INTERVIEW WITH SARAH FROM SQUIRREL HOUSE

Interview

by Emmy

Oh I love me some cute wooden beaded necklaces, bracelets and anklets with tassels. I also love seeing those adorable photos of mama and babes (always with a cup of tea) laying in bed with matching tie-dye socks! It’s one of my IG bucket list photos to get with Isla; (though I have to be honest I’ve always wondered how do mamas take that photo and how do they not spill the tea?)

INTERVIEW WITH DOMINIQUE FROM BABY DINO

The Merge Journal

by Emmy

It is no secret that us TMJ mamas absolutely adore companies that are socially responsible and aim to make a positive impact in our world. There is so much sadness on every news network at the moment and even more sadness that does not actually make the nightly news. A lot of times I find myself asking questions, can I really make a difference? What could I possibly do to help people? How can tiny me, Emmy, actually make a positive change? But then I read about companies who actually give back to communities and individuals in need and I feel positive. I feel like perhaps I can positively contribute to making the world a better place. I can consciously choose to support companies, which give back. One of these companies that is striving to make a difference in the world is Baby Dino. Today I’m chatting with Co-Founder and #mumboss Dominique Perri.

Self care what?

Life

by Emmy

Everything in the room was styled to perfection. Hanging foliage from the ceiling. Candles and flowers on the low table; which was surrounded by the softest sheep-skin mats and crisp white walls (I’m a sucker for white walls). It was literally like I had walked into a pinterest board. I was in love.
