Flower crowns have been on major trend lately; they add understated elegance to any occasion. Baby’s breath in particular has been widely used because of its vintage inspired, fairytale look and feel. This simple flower crown is oh so girly, affordable and easy to assemble. Follow the instructions below to make your very own.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Florist wire
- Floral tape
- Bunch of baby’s breath
- Pair of scissors
… and about 20 minutes of your time.
To get started:
Firstly you’ll need to prepare the baby’s breath by trimming off the sprigs, make sure to leave a few centimetres of stem at the end.
Next you’ll need to measure around the circumference of your head or the head of your mini model – here I have used two pieces of florist wire and I have intertwined the ends, then bent to desired shape.
Add a sprig of baby’s breath to your wire and line it up horizontally, use a piece of floral tape, keep the stem secure and tightly wrap to the wire. If you desire a fuller crown you can bunch two or more sprigs together at a time.
Slowly work your way around the wire, adding and taping stems until you have reached the original starting point.
If you wanted to add that final finishing touch, you could always secure a piece of ribbon to the back of your flower crown to give it that little something extra or leave just as it is.
There you have it, an ethereal looking, quick and simple flower crown that you can make at home in under 20 minutes.
