We’ve all got major heart eyes for one of the loveliest mamas we’ve had the pleasure of virtually meeting on Instagram. Hayley Weston of ‘@billieandbeau’ is the mum of three divine strawberry haired babes – Harper, Jack and Billie. Her adorable children model the most darling clothes for all our favourite IG stores, and we can’t help but gush time and time again over her whimsical photos that have that old vintage charm. We were lucky enough to get all the goss on our favourite 20 questions.
Let’s start things easy, and simple …
1. What did you have for breakfast this morning?
Strong coffee and about three spoonfuls of Billies porridge as I was feeding her.
2. Most enjoyed Winter and Summer beverages?
I LOVE a pint of Guinness in winter! Cider in summer. Coffee all year round!
3. What three things do you take to your desert island (unfortunately George Clooney isn’t available)?
Hmmm … is Johnny Depp available?! Totally kidding, sorry hubby! I’d take a good book – because I never get the chance to read, my bed – because I love sleep too much to slum it on the ground, and lots of food!
4. Describe your style …
Pretty casual and low maintenance. You’ll see me in jeans and a tee most days, but I do love a chance to get dressed up!
5. Holiday destination of choice?
Well if I was to go on my own it would have to be NYC – I’ve never been and it’s the only place I’m really desperate to get to. If it was a family holiday it would be the French countryside. We’re so lucky to have family with a holiday house over there, we just need to brave the 20+ hour flight over with three kids!
Ok, let’s step it up a little …
6. How do you chill out?
I don’t get a huge amount of chill out time unfortunately. But when I do, I like to watch a bit of Netflix and indulge in some kind of junk food, most likely chocolate or ice cream. And if I didn’t have to constantly monitor my 18 month old diving fearlessly into the ocean, I’d say laying on the beach is a pretty amazing way to chill out too.
7. Something you can’t live without?
Can I say my husband and kids?! And my mum! She still brings me dinner and does my ironing! Definitely can’t live without her.
8. You have a dinner party and can invite three people dead or alive, who’s attending?
Definitely Wills and Kate. I think we would be BFF’s. And Jamie Oliver.
9. …and what signature dish do you cook for them? More importantly, does it involve dessert?
Well Jamie would cook obviously. Is that rude to invite someone to a dinner party and expect them to cook? I’m imagining a few different platters of amazing food and some kind of pie for dessert.
10. When you jump on Instagram, which accounts do you look at no matter what?
Cannot get enough of @indi.and.arch @maggiemaymaggiemay and @kcstauffer. I’m obviously a sucker for some cute babes. And always checking out @courtneyandthebabes for some weave inspo – she is a total weaving goddess!
11. Are you afraid of anything? (we promise we won’t use this against you. Maybe.)
I’m scared of swimming in deep water. I hate not knowing what could be lurking underneath me. I’ll just splash on the shore thanks.
12. Favourite childhood memory?
Playing at my grandparents house. I grew up with a single mum who worked so I spent a bit of time there. It’s was such a big old house with so much to do and explore. I’d always make perfume from my Papas roses and collect oranges and passionfruit from the garden and my Grandma would feed me ice cream and warm lemonade. Those were the days!
13. What are your non negotiable health and beauty routines?
I can’t wake up in the mornings without exfoliating my face! And I can’t stand my hair being even the slightest bit oily, I have to wash it at the first sign of grease. Health wise we are all pretty relaxed, I’m definitely one to say balance is the key. Having said that, I don’t exercise and pretty much never have … I’m waiting to catch the running bug but it’s just not happening! We’re crazy about green juices though and try to get them in most days. Green apple, celery, cucumber, kale, ginger and lemon is my go to recipe.
Oh, these are too easy? Ok … let’s get personal.
14. What does self care mean to you?
Being kind to yourself, taking time for you. It’s definitely easy to forget about looking after yourself when you have kids and a lot going on. I think treating yourself kindly both physically and emotionally is really important. They go hand and hand and for me if ones not right neither is the other. Finding harmony with both, to me, is self care at its best.
15. Leap into the future – describe to us how it looks …
Hopefully I’ll be finished my nursing degree which I’ve been working on slowly for the last couple of years and I’d love to get a job working with women and children. I’m dreaming of moving to the south west coast and building our dream home on a big property – with enough bedrooms for about 20 more babies. Totally kidding … maybe just 10.
16. Inspiration; what makes you go chick chick boom?
Seeing my kids accomplish things. They’re so little and innocent and always give everything they try 100%. They’re not afraid of failure, they just go with it and hope for the best. I find that pretty inspirational.
17. What makes you wet-your-pants happy?
Seeing the words ‘sale’ and ‘free postage’ in the same sentence. I also feel pretty joyful if we make it through a day with minimal fighting between the babes and an easy bedtime (which is pretty darn rare!).
18. Do you live by a life motto? If so, do share …
It would have to be ‘just keep swimming’ – Dory.
19. Tell us something about yourself that we’d be surprised to hear …
I’m totally self conscious about everything and have never been happy with my appearance. I need to get over it because it’s definitely not something I want to pass onto my kids.
and finally …
20. What’s next for you?
Gosh I really don’t know … I like to play it loose. I’m open to anything! Especially if it includes babies! All I can ask for is a loving and healthy family and I’m happy to let the rest just fall into place.
