Cacao Antioxidant Face Mask

by Candice

For all you chocoholics out there, oh boy do I have a treat for you! We’ve all heard of the benefits chocolate can do for our health (obviously the only reason we all eat the stuff but how about what it can also do for our skin?!).

Due to raw cacao’s potent antioxidant and nutritional properties, this face mask can effectively reduce the signs of premature ageing, improve skin texture and appearance by stimulating blood circulation, and can fight free radical damage caused by environmental pollutants and excessive sun exposure.

Cacao (Cu-Cow) also known to the Mayans and Aztecs as ‘food of the gods’, is essentially chocolate in it’s purest form. Not only is it great for our skin, it is also extremely beneficial to our overall health.

Paired with other amazing natural skin boosting ingredients, this face mask will leave you with nourished, firmer, glowing from within skin. Go ahead and have a mini spa day with your little loves at home, I bet they’ll beam over the idea of smearing chocolate pudding all over their face, and I’m almost 100% sure they won’t be able to resist having a sneaky taste!

Cacao is an antioxidant rich powerhouse that will boost collagen and elastin production. Avocado improves hydration. Raw honey has natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties to help sooth and heal irritation. Cinnamon increases blood circulation, revealing plumper looking skin.

2 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 mashed avocado
1 tbsp raw honey
2 tsp cinnamon powder

Combine and mix all ingredients together. Add a generous layer and gently massage into the skin, leave the mask on for around 25 minutes. Use a warm wet wash cloth to remove.
*You may want to use an old wash cloth, as the Cacao can tend to stain.
